The cottage is the birthplace of famous French impressionist painter Eugene Boudin (born 1824). It is situated in a quiet area of the old town, only 4 minutes walk from the picturesque ancient port, which is now a marina for large and small luxury yachts and some preserved wooden boats. The port is surrounded by interesting shops, art galleries, restaurants and Saturday market. The cottage is tastefully decorated and comprises 2 double bedrooms, living roomdiner, shower room, WC, luxurious fully equipped fitted kitchen (recently installed) with electric oven, hob, fridge, washing machine, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee machine and plenty of matching crockery, cutlery and glasses. Event in 2011, the city celebrates its 150th Maritime Day Marine.
Since 1861, the “Seafarer, ” gather the weekend of Pentecost around the Blessing of the Sea on Sunday and the pilgrimage to Our Lady of Grace on Monday.
This procession is the highlight of the weekend, ship models are brought to the chapel of the Côte de Grâce.
The whole city is decked for the occasion and the boats are in bloom.
